ABOUT US
Behind the Scenes
The Jokonya Trust was named after Ambassador T.J.B Jokonya. As a diplomat and Minister, he always remembered where he came from and one of the driving forces throughout his life, was to improve the conditions of his home district. The Trust was launched 16th February 2007 after his death with the goal of continuing his work to support the empowerment, and progress of the people Chikomba. Learn more about our mission, our vision, and how we go about making the changes we want to see.
OUR PROJECTS
The community dictate our efforts
GOALS & OUTREACH
Making a Difference
Our goal has been to carry on the legacy of the late minister and ambassador Dr TJB Jokonya.
We spent the first year with our board members, traveling all across the district, talking to the community and identifying areas of need.
We finally decided to focus on health and education.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Doing What’s Needed
Through our Community Development, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. Health is one of our key areas of focus. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with our programs.
OUR MODEL
Tackling the Issue
We work with the community to identify their needs. We then try and match donors to support specific programs and establish a personal relationship with the recipients of their aid.

SWIM 4 CHIKOMBA

Swimming the 80km length of Lake Geneva in one week

FROM IDEA TO REALITY: SARA AND ADRIAN PUSHED THE ENVELOPE
Convincing everyone that this was an achievable goal was no easy feat. Sara and Adrian were discouraged at every stage but they believed in themselves and fought until they convinced people that they could succeed.

Many people have swam across Lake Geneva, very few have attempted the 80km length!
